Of Talking About Books

Hello everyone!

Today I am excited (and nervous!) to bring you my first booktube video. Booktube is youtubers talking about books. I’m jumping on the booktube bandwagon to be a better reader. I will also try to do different kinds of videos other than bookish ones, and in no way is this going to affect my blogging (unless for the better!). If you have a booktube channel, please leave a comment on my channel and let’s be friends!

I’m having a bit of a blogging personality crisis. Well, it isn’t as serious as it sounds for, let’s be honest, I haven’t been serious about blogging for quite a while. It doesn’t nag me, or excite me as it used to. And it’s not because I’ve grown out of it. I just don’t know what more I can do with it. Continue reading “Of Blogging Personalities”

To be honest, I don’t know what crapathy means exactly. I first learnt about it through Continue reading “Crapathy”

A Horse Walks Into A Bar Cover

I want to try something new. I’m thinking of calling it Amrita’s ‘Wednesday Words of Wisdom’. These wouldn’t be rehashing some trite motivational quotes. No, Messieurs et Mesdames et Mesdemoiselles. These will be the hard-earned truth, laid brutally on your casual reading plate. Today’s words are: Never ask anybody what they think of you. Continue reading “Book Review: A Horse Walks Into A Bar”

The thoughts of a millenial

Another review of Of Opinions – the book! If you’ve been thinking about picking up a copy (or reading the one you already own!), read on to find out more about it!

The Art Dive

amrita sarkar_of opinions“It is so intense, it makes you want to stay alive. To keep going. To keep chasing it or trying to make it last. We call it something indefinable that goes by the name of love, but, essentially, it is a puzzle we can’t work out. I’m not sure I’d want to work it out either.”—Amrita Sarkar, Of Opinions

Fellow WordPress blogger Amrita Sarkar of ofopinions.wordpress.com has expanded her blog posts into a book of the same name, Of Opinions. With thoughts ranging from beauty to emotion and memory, anxieties, and relationships and social media, this book is a map to how a gifted twenty-something experiences and judges the world.

The essays are a sort of distilled college compositions, imbued with the insights of a student who wants to own each thesis statement. While I would have preferred conversations structured by their antecedents, there’s an urgency and freshness in…
